Wow. We’re now 2 weeks in front of the release of EARL’s Warehouse, and so far, the response has been much better than I expected. My prior Kongregate releases topped out in the 2.8 star range, so my goal was to pull at least a 3.0 star rating for EARL’s Warehouse. That goal has been well exceeded, with EARL’s Warehouse currently sporting a much-better-than-mediocre 3.42 star rating! This cat is certainly smiling today.
Thank you to everyone who took time to play and rate EARL’s Warehouse so far. A 3.42 star rating doesn’t just happen without all of your support, and I very much appreciate all of the support I can get. Launching strong with a high rating moves my games up toward the top of the Kongregate lists, bringing it more attention, more plays, and eventually more ad revenue.
Speaking of ad revenue, if you are using an ad blocker, it will be greatly helpful if you are willing to allow Kongregate’s ads to display while playing my games. It takes a lot of ad impressions to make just a little ad revenue: As of now, total ad revenue for EARL’s Warehouse is only $0.50 on 475 plays, so every little bit helps. Again, thank you for your support.
EARL’s Warehouse has reached the point where I am already planning for the first expansion to the game. There seems to be fire here, and I’m going with it. Expansions will be released as additional blocks of puzzles, each with their own mini-story.
For today, though, I just have a minor update based on some interesting data points I found in the game stats. I made the “Gremlin” level a more intuitive training level for the Gremlin game mechanic, based on seeing a large number of people seeming to give up on that level. Also, I suspect that the second block of puzzles does not have very good discoverability (ironic as the puzzle block is titled “Discovery”), so I made it so that the cutscene deposits you into the second puzzle block instead of the level select screen for the first puzzle block.
If you haven’t played or rated EARL’s Warehouse yet, or want to take another crack at that puzzle that has you stumped, please feel free to do so on Kongregate! Your continued support is very much appreciated.
