Believe it or not, hot on the heels of the release of “The Depot”, My new mobile game “Prepare for Warp” is already nearing completion. If everything continues to go well, it will probably be released on the Google Play store in mid to late October.
Yesterday, I completed the overhaul of the formerly-very-ugly-prototype store screen, and the gameplay has been pretty solid for nearly a week now. As for what that gameplay entails, I could summarize it as “Temple Run, Learn to Fly, and Asteroids go out clubbing together,” with fast-paced tilt steering to get around obstacles and pick up power-ups.
Your goal is to fly a space ship to build up enough “warp energy” to go to warp – the faster you fly, the faster your warp energy builds, but every obstacle you hit slows you down, drains your shields, and will eventually destroy you. Succeed or fail, you will earn money to buy ship upgrades that will make your warp attempts easier and allow you to complete some of the longer, more lucrative routes. Over 100 functional and cosmetic upgrades are available to provide hours of entertainment.
A single attempt takes from one to five minutes, making this a game that can be easily picked up and put down again during those brief lulls in your day. The game has been tested and plays well on both smartphones and 7-inch tablets.
